Elias had an under-7s rugby game Saturday morning. He started playing ripper (or flag) rugby, but the last two weeks he's moved to tackle. It's fun to watch for me; Liz is a little nervous that someone might get hurt. I guess that's what moms do.
After the game, we hosed Elias off a bit and met up with the Didier family. We were invited out to a local sheep farm and citrus orchard that has been in the same family since it was established in 1906. An amazingly gracious couple from our church, Ira and Jean, were so kind to host us for a picnic in the woodshed. The kids (I'm including myself in that) had an awesome day. We watched the sheep dogs herding the sheep into pins, held some lambs, went for rides in a tractor and on a quad, ate fresh picked oranges, and generally scampered about for hours. We even had a s'mores roast to wrap up the day. It was one of the best days we've had here in New Zealand.
Thanks Ira and Jean! You're the best!
